Announcing the 2001 National Scenic Byways Conference

The National Scenic Byways Resource Center is pleased to announce the 2001 National Scenic Byways Conference:

Portland, Oregon - August 26-29, 2001

Participants can also participate in a special workshop:

Bend, Oregon - August 24-25, 2001

Ten proposals were received from national byway locations around the country. Representatives from the 53 National Scenic Byways and All-American Roads and state scenic byway coordinators were surveyed for input on the conference location and date. Portland, Oregon was the top choice for the 2001 conference. Bend, Oregon also ranked in the top three. The Portland proposal was submitted by a special committee representing state, federal and local agencies from both Oregon and Washington.
