Good Example of a Prior Projects Summary:
This project is the third year of Phase II of Maryland's ongoing efforts to market its state and federally designated byways (NSBP grants: SB-2006-MD-1, $100,000; SB-2007-MD-1, $260,000). It is being executed in conjunction with SHA's production of the second edition of the guidebook and map, which will be complete in early 2008, and the re-branding of the program as Maryland Byways. Phase I marketing was completed in 2005 with the distribution of 100,000 guidebooks and over a million maps.
Currently, OTD is nearing the end of the Market Study portion of the 2005 Economic Impact and Market Study project. Information from the study will be used to provide creative direction for this phase of marketing. The Economic Impact Study will be conducted after the 2008 fall travel season concludes.
This is a good example because it:
- Provides the status of efforts to date, the integration of the project components with other marketing initiatives (i.e., the guidebook and the map), and quantifies the dissemination of materials (i.e., distribution of 100,000 guidebooks and over a million maps). This provides the reviewer with the "big picture" and illustrates a comprehensiveness of approach in marketing the State’s byways
- Ties the project into quantitative data (i.e., the Economic Impact and Market Study)
- Includes the specific NSBP project numbers and award amounts
