< Integration of Information, Ex. 4 - Work Plan Less Successful Examples of Budget/Cost Breakdown > Table of Contents
Budget/Cost Breakdown:
| # Description | Total Cost | Requested | Match |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Plumbing | 36,000 | 28,800 | 7,200 |
| 2. Selective Demolition | 20,000 | 16,000 | 4,000 |
| 3. Concrete | 5,000 | 4,000 | 1,000 |
| 4. Floorplan/Finishes | 45,000 | 36,000 | 9,000 |
| 5. Electrical/Lighting | 40,000 | 32,000 | 8,000 |
| 6. Interpretation (professional fees and assembly) | 15,000 | 12,000 | 3,000 |
| 7. Professional Fees (architectural/engineering) | 14,600 | 11,680 | 2,920 |
| Total | $175,600 | $140,480 | $35,120 |
This example is less successful because it:
- Highlights that interpretation is a relatively small percentage of the project budget and does not appear that the requested funding is proportionate to the benefit to byway travelers.
- Includes prep and concrete work (i.e., demolition and underpinning the foundation) associated with the installation of an elevator (see Work Plan above). Again, the elevator is not included in the project nor is there any reference as to how this would benefit byway travelers so it is unclear why prep and concrete work associated with the installation would be included in the Budget
